Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is reportedly facing a significant injury setback and could miss India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. According to multiple media sources, Pandya sustained a left quadriceps injury during India’s Super 4 match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2025, forcing him to leave the field after just one over.
The injury looks serious enough that Pandya has reportedly been advised four weeks of rest, putting his availability for the ODI leg of the Australia series in serious doubt. India’s tour of Australia begins with three ODIs starting October 19, followed by five T20Is beginning October 29.
The current thinking is that Pandya will most likely miss the ODI matches, and his inclusion in the T20Is will depend on how fast he recovers and whether he gains medical clearance.
In his absence, India’s squad balance will be under scrutiny. Pandya, being a seam-bowling all-rounder, provides both bowling depth and batting flexibility — a combination that will be harder to replace.
